Overview
A Midnight Drive was an event hosted at Rivian Vancouver Space in partnership with Runtime Data. Attendees donned a VR headset while seated in a Rivian SUV, experiencing a spooky driving adventure. Over a 100 registered attendees registered for the event, the majority of whom had never been in a Rivian Vehicle nor a VR headset, left with newfound curiosity for both.
Synchronizing Digital and Physical
The roomscale VR experience was precisely mapped to the real-life Rivian R1S, allowing for a stronger feeling of immersion. If an attendee touched the dashboard in the experience, they touched it in real life.

A Cinematic Experience
Deliberate use of lighting and stylization to deliver a high-quality cinematic experience on mobile VR hardware. Precise colour palettes to organically guide player attention.

An HMI from the future
The experience sports a futuristic HMI interface for attendees to use during the experience, featuring a GPS, Radio, and even hidden narrative elements to discover.
